I think couchsurfing is both a great opportunity for both parts to experience, learn and teach about new culture and your own. In so many ways, your life gets shaped by the people you meet, and new cultures and ways of doing things can really open up your eyes and help you develop as a person.

When you travel, I feel like you don't get the essence of a place by acting like a tourist. You have to eat, live and sleep like the people living in that place, and couchsurfing is a perfect way of doing this!!

Moving to another country to live in a town with more sheep than people and more pubs than cars. Yes, it was in Ireland.

Great company and stories. Exchanging culture, political views, discussing differences, prejudices and similarities - and in general having a good time. I'm eager and curious to learn about different ways of living and languages, and just as eager to share mine! I can cook and tell bad puns, and I love nature and sharing knowledge from my time as a girls scout (sometimes to my friends' annoyance, hehe)
