About Me

CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME

I was born in Spain, yet my family is of mixed origin - which explains my non-Spanish appearance.

My dad is American and my mom is Estonian, so I grew up in a varied linguistic environment. I also have three younger sisters.

I have always been good with languages and have enjoyed studying them, so it just made sense to gent into a career that had something to do with languages; so Translation-Interpretation seemed like a good option.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't do to anyone what you wouldn't like to be done to yourself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

There are four of us living in the apartment: myself, my boyfriend, my flatmate Jara (who is from Cadiz) and my flatmate Katharina (who is a German exchange student). We all study in the Translation-Interpretation faculty here in Granada.

We have one extra mattress and one sofa.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted a few people on my account and I've also had roommates who have hosted couchsurfers on many occasions, so I'm not new to the CS world.

Interests

I love languages - with time I hope to learn a few more. And what better way to use those languages other than travelling?

I really enjoy cooking: anything from baking to making curries to cooking up stews...

I am a music lover and like to think that I have quite an eclectic taste. My flatmate Jara has a fantastic taste in music! She sticks to the oldies, but that's more than fine by me.

I like animals. I would love to have a pet, but my landlord didn't seem too impressed when I asked if we could have animals in the flat.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have been used to living in a musical environment, since both my parents are classical musicians. I don't play an instrument myself, but I very much enjoy listening to it. Here in my flat you will most probably be hearing several oldies: The Beatles, The R. Stones, Jefferson Airplane, Led Zeppelin, Simon & Garfunkel and many others.

I really enjoy watching good series. The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Blackadder, Monty Python,... At the moment I am watching Northern Exposure.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a year as an exchange student in Estonia. This was a great experience for me, seeing as I had always had the language at home, but had never lived in the country. Estonia is a special country - I hope to return someday.

Something that must be said, though: Latvian and Lithuanian beer is better! Yum! We don't get stuff like that in Spain, I'm afraid. We do have wine, though.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some Spanish, some English or some Estonian. Maybe we could even cook something together.
