About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see the world and some of the wonderful thing it has to offer! My friend & I are on a mission not only to see wonderful places but meet the wonderful people that live there

ABOUT ME

Well, I guess I am a people person. I have a degree in Business management and work as a restaurant manager in the gorgeous city of Bath in the UK. I love my job but decided that it was the perfect time to take a trip around our wonderful world, travelling is something I have always been interested in so my flat mate and I started planning a year long trip. I am one of five and part of a huge, lovely, wonderful family- so I love children and the hustle and bustle of family life. I grew up in the southern part on England in a county of Dorset, my mum and step-dad live in the country and my dad and step-mum live pretty much on the beach, so I have the best of both worlds with regards to locations. I moved to Bath for a job promotion when I was 21 and fell in love with the small, historical city. I love animals and currently between my mum and dad we have a collie called Maisie- she loads of fun and pulls of some great tricks, a Shih Tzu called Alfie- he is such a prancer, and two cats called Hollie and Roo.

PHILOSOPHY

Honestly, I think it's sometimes good to do what feels right. I have been lucky enough to meet my lovely boyfriend whilst on my travels and he is currently off travelling with one of his friends. Take risks!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am an advocate of the site! I tell people about all the great experiences I have had!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had some great times couch surfing as I have travelled. I couch surfed all over the states and then again in New Zealand. I am currently making my way down the east coast of Australia and couch surfing all the way down.
Meeting the people from the place I visit makes the experience more personal and I really enjoy learning about the area and peoples lives. I have done some amazing things while being hosted- fly fishing, gun shooting, trekking and boat trips- it has been great.

Interests

I obviously love travelling- I think the key to it is embracing the culture and feel for a place- I have couch surfed in the States and have made some fantastic memories, met wonderful people and seen more than I could have imagined.

I have always been into art and music and sometimes when I can't sleep, I find that sketching is the cure!
I have been skiing in the French alps and was lucky enough to ski in New Zealand.
I love the outdoors, growing up in a place like Dorset means you find your entire childhood was spent running and climbing. I love trying out new and exciting activities.
Since travelling I have been writing a blog, see below link, documenting our travels and experiences along the way. I love writing, trying to set a scene and making the reader feel engaged and part of an experience through words- it is a skill I would like to keep improving.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music! I am so glad for the iPod touch allowing new music to be downloaded without a laptop! I try to listed to a range of different stuff, some old, some new, some good, some bad! A spot of jazz music is always nice on a sunny Sunday and I love going to see bands. Beyoncé is an absolute girl crush of mine!

I am a huge Harry Potter fan- books, movies, memorabilia- pretty much anything Harry Potter! Big fan of the Game of Thrones books- I haven't managed to finish them as my kindle broke and they are a bit big to carry around while travelling!

I love a good action movie and have recently learnt that I enjoy a good scare as well. Of course, I love an afternoon in with tea, biscuits and a Disney marathon!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For me, doing my 134 metre bungee in Queenstown, NZ was amazing. Having to dive off the ledge between the canyons is mind blowing!
Diving on the barrier reef and seeing a 2.5metre long moray eel was amazing!
I am very proud to be part of my family- they are fantastic!

Teach, Learn, Share

I guess I can hare stories of travelling and my experiences along the way- where to eat, the best busses etc.

Like i said before, I would love to learn another language- I'm thinking maybe Spanish as I can learn other languages from that.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Cambodia, England, Fiji, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Laos, Myanmar, Netherlands, New Zealand, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, Viet Nam
