- Contribute to the responsible tourism agenda and learn more about community based tourism
ABOUT ME
I left grown-up life in 2013 and spent a year solo back-packing in south-east Asia and South America. Absolutely loved it. The experience also motivated me to return to uni and study for a masters in sustainable development and tourism. Love travelling, learning and am passionate about sustainability....just wish air travel wasn't so unsustainable!
I recently completed my MSc. (October 2015) and am now trying to figure out what / where next! Plan for the next 6 months is coming together nicely though and I will be working for a sustainable travel company / social enterprise in San Jose, Costa Rica. Really excited, slightly nervous and very lucky.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I still have most of my belongings in attics, cupboards and under beds so I have no couch to offer at present. But hopefully I will sometime soon. I imagine I will be re-joining at least some aspects of grown-up life at some point...like having somewhere to live!!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Stayed with some great people in Singapore and Brazil - some of the Brazilians were a bit too chilled out to write references though! And my UK experiences were just as positive - plus really enjoyed all the couch surfing meet-ups at the pub in Leeds. CS is great way to meet some amazing people.
Interests
I like: adventures, outdoorsy stuff, cooking, radio 4, contemporary / foreign fiction, learning new stuff, cider, the sea...
I am also interested in all aspects of sustainability and would like to work in the areas of travel, ethical trade and sustainable supply chain management.
