I used to be a teacher; in recent years, have worked for non-profits. I'm outgoing, in fact talk to people wherever I meet them--on the bus, in line, etc.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It's a lot more fun spending time with people when traveling. I've stayed in youth hostels as well, and enjoy chatting with folks, playing cards at night, and giving each other tips on where to go.

FYI, even if I haven't logged in recently (i.e., 5 months), please still e-mail me--I can still meet you for coffee and orient you to Boston/New England.

Interests

biking (I bike to work), hiking, reading, gardening, getting together with friends, speaking in other languages, learning new things--recently made a glass bead at a demo, also took a watercolor class this spring; I love petting dogs on the street (since I don't have my own); vegetarian

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

climbed a waterfall (I mean up the rocks in the middle of the falls); a row of traffic halted to let a little old lady creep across the street; biked 60 miles (4th of July, a bunch of years ago; came home, cooked-then biked over to the fireworks!)

Can teach vegetarian cooking. A little sign language (ASL). Hebrew. Gardening.
