About Me

CURRENT MISSION

chase after life

ABOUT ME

I strive to live life, not just exist.

Working in the restaurant industry allows me free time to come and go as I please. It is perfect for me in this chapter of my life.

PHILOSOPHY

Happiness is found in the journey. It is not an end result and is achieved in the consistency of making and attaining goals.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I moved to NYC I drove across the US from California with my best friend Sarah. Along that journey we gratefully stayed with a few people via couchsurfing.
I have since traveled a bit by myself and have been hosted by CS on those adventures too.

Some time ago I was able to pay it forward and offer my couch to some traveling Aussies in NYC. Whom later hosted me upon my arrival in Australia.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Through CouchSurfing, I have met some incredible people. You never know what life is going throw at you, and the people I have met have been a delight in their own individual ways.

Music, Movies, and Books

MuteMath is my all time favorite band. Following them in no specific order of my appreciation for their talents include: Ray Charles, Little Dragon, Ray Lamontnage, Otis Redding, Janelle Monae, Shachah, Michael Jackson, MGMT, Miles Davis, Ben Howard, Jay-Z and on and on and on

I generally lean toward comedic movies like: Elf, Anchor Man, Hitch, Horrible Bosses, Big Fat Liar, The Emperors New Groove, etc.
I love Disney movies - especially watching the collection of VHS tapes my parents still own from my childhood
I also am highly interested in documentaries

My favorite books include: What is the What?, Brain On Fire, Ray Charles' Memoir, And There Was Light, Taking Woodstock...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A few new Years ago I received a text from an unknown number saying that someones friend was going to commit suicide when school returned. The next day I called this number and found out that the girls from the texts are in high school and the one who texted me thought she was contacting the suicidal girls' mother. I made some suicide hotline phone calls and passed on the information to the girls. Fast forward a year and you will learn that I am friends with both girls via texting. We say hello to each other, encourage each other and offer a friendship that was uniquely made. The experience and continued relationship with these girls makes me so grateful for life and being open to opportunities to help strangers and receive so much too, in the process.
