About Me
***My husband and I are not on this site for anything sexual/ romantic so please do not reach out or accept an invitation if those are your intentions. We just like meeting, hanging out, and sharing stories with people while we are traveling. IF YOU TRY IT ON, I WILL KICK YOU OUT/LEAVE***
Graduated from Nursing school with specialties in disaster response, advanced cardiac management, pediatric advanced life support, and stroke scoring. I started in an intensive burn unit and am now a traveler. From Kansas and, like Dorothy, looking to get swept away to a new place always. I have 1 epileptic pup, 6 erratic siblings, and 2 colorful parents back home in Kansas.
Nicknamed: Bekah Wrecka, Bekah the Brave, Bekah of Sunnybrook Farm, and Kansas.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing so far has made travel seem way more possible cost-wise and has been great for meeting new people who super fortunately know the area and places to be. I actually met my husband on Couchsurfing.
Interests
I get excited for those moments when taking a risk, making a stand, or facing a fear really pays off and I really enjoy the feeling of flying.
Love meeting new people, seeing new lifestyles, heavy rain storms, big clumsy animals, and life in general.
Healthcare interest is up there along with running, hiking, and swimming which are great for me most of the time but it is better when I'm doing any of it with company.
Music, Movies, and Books
There are really too many to choose from for all of these subjects.
Recent favorites: Two Cellos Thunderstruck Cover, Lemony Snicket's Horse Radish, and Gran Torino.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1) Sled down an active volcano in Nicaragua, clocked 35mph or 56km/hr while some clouds of sulfur were steaming up behind me, and fell off at the end. Got a minor cut on my leg which you can see in the pictures above but, there were homemade cookies and beer (the local Tonya) at the end with everybody that made it all better.
2) Engaged in a swimming competition with a swim captain in a lake known for its freshwater sharks (dumb - yes, do I have all my limbs still - yes.)
3) Got swept away traveling with a spontaneous man who, after a series of fortunate adventures, I eloped with a few years back in Nebraska.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A clean, grateful guest who realizes that where I'd be is someone's home. I like telling/ hearing stories if a host would like to tell and I do not mind leaving something from home behind. I am up for answering questions - feel free to ask.
For those staying, my couch pictures are of my home back in Kansas. My husband and I change locations regularly and we have a pup - the black and white one in the couch pictures. He is super friendly and lazy - sometimes we mistake him for furniture.
