ABOUT ME

Hello, we (Rebekah and Mary) share this profile because we lived together as students in NYC for a few years. We do not live together anymore and are now traveling on separate paths as critical thinkers, writers, and/or scientists. Still, we keep this couchsurfing account because we have met a lot of wonderful people through this site. Keep this mind if you are ever interested in hosting one of us.

PHILOSOPHY

Both of us believe in, and work hard to demonstrate, the universal human capacity for knowledge and empathy. Open minds and open hearts.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Couchsurfed across Europe, USA, and Mexico. Hosted folks in NYC when we lived together in a sweet apartment. Alas, we are no longer living together. We are currently trying "to allow our asses to feel the fabric of couches all over the world," using Couchsurfing as a way to connect with awesome people and places around the world.

Intereses

Philosophy, anthropology, science: A grand trio of intellectual interests that encompasses everything ordinary from having good rational conversations, playing with instruments made around the world, to dancing the muscles of the human body. We are both writers who communicate in various genres, medias, forms and themes.

The list is too long and moves in multiple directions. Let's just say that we like our movies, music, and books deep in sweet-bitter flavors and full of soul, like a good fruit.

Algo increíble que he hecho

Mary: The day I received my American passport (afer 15+ years of living in the states), I walked across the border from San Diego, California into Tijuana, Mexico. This was two years ago. Since then, I hitchhiked across the USA (including the Grand Canyon!), Mexico, and Western Europe with my boyfriend by playing didgeridoo on the streets. I hitchhiked and free festival hopped through Mexico and Guatemala for the end of the Mayan calendar. I completed my first solo travels through the Balkans, mostly by thumb. While I continue to travel and see the world, what will always be my fondest memories will be meeting the mad, crazy, beautiful, real people on this planet...

So much love and stories to share! Whether about philosophy or anthropology, we have much information to share about the human's mind and body for those curious about the inner and outer worlds we've created.

Mary: I can circulate knowledge about art and culture, indigenous cosmologies, rewriting ancient and modern histories, the politics of globalization, kundalini yoga, cooking vegan/vegetarian, and tropical fruits. I practice creative labor (writing) and do child care work, which I'm always more than willing to share. I really want to learn more about traveling and exploring cold climates and landscapes.
