About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Keep learning!

ABOUT ME

I have decided over and over again that everyday-life is a wonderful source of amusement.

I enjoy very simple things in life, especially anything new. Maybe my brain and/or heart is that of a young child, but new and simple things tend to amaze me beyond words.

My heart is at ease most when I am playing with my son, playing with our pets, watching and listening to a natural body of water, hearing my friends and joining in on making music, and simply peacefully observing things exist in harmony with everything else.

I am an observer and a learner. I am a mother.

"A writer may tell me that he thinks man will ultimately become an ostrich. I cannot properly contradict him."
-Thomas Malthus

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm excited about folk music, bluegrass (yay fiddles!), the Northwest indie-scene, usw. Josh Ritter. Wilco. Animal Collective. David Byrne (alright, he's Scottish). Ambulance LTD. Jack Ruby. Good hip-hop is great too.

Some favorite authors include: Tom Robbins. Kurt Vonnegut. Chuck Palahniuk.
I generally love books in German (Bambi, Herrn Kukas Empfehlungen, currently reading Candide.)

Movies: Wall-E. Sonnenalle. Moulin Rouge. The Lion King. Pan's Labyrinth.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

+Made a beautiful little human.

I really think it's the small things that make a person's life exciting. A few small things that I think are completely amazing-
+ buying a wonderfully rickety, old bicycle
+following a railroad for 26 miles in attempt to walk to the Ocean from McMinnville, Oregon
+living in Europe and making it BACK a year later (and hopefully yet again)
+riding a galloping horse over hills right outside of my hometown
+backpacking in Olympic National Park and Yosemite

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Canada, Cayman Islands, Czech Republic, Hungary, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Slovakia

Countries I’ve Lived In

Austria, Germany, United States
