Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To learn more about myself and the world.
ABOUT ME
I'm an open-minded and compassionate person who loves to learn new things (although sometimes I need a little convincing first - particularly if that something involves sports) and meet people from different cultures. I'm interested in all sorts of stuff from music, arts and literature to spirituality and travelling. I guess you'll just find out when we meet... :)
PHILOSOPHY
If you really want something you can always find a way to make it happen. Your greatest enemy is yourself - once you get over the barriers that you created for yourself you can do anything. Of course, achieving that is harder than it sounds - I try to strive towards that.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I offer a couch to people who come to my town...
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Me and my family offered a couch to a few people in the past - it was a pleasant experience and I intend to do it in the future too.
I've used couchsurfing when I was in Paris in February 2014 and stayed with a very nice girl who cooked delicious French food for me and helped me out with everything she could. So it was a wonderful experience.
I've also hosted a few people since then and I have to say I found it really rewarding to be able to help out and show people around my town. It's also very interesting to meet people from different cultures and get to know them, and make new friends in the process.
Interests
Too many...
I'm a bookworm and always have a book with me, but I'm just as passionate about music.
I like learning in general, but I'm especially interested in languages, history and literature. I love arts of any (and every) kind and collect pictures.
Learning about other cultures and people who are different from me is also one of the things that I really enjoy.
I'm also open to suggestions - if you are passionate about something and want to share it I'm more than happy to give it a go.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books - Jane Eyre (by Charlotte Bronte), Harry Potter series (by J K Rowling - who also happens to be my favourite author...), Runemarks (by Joanne Harris), Darkest Powers (by Kelley Armstrong), Gone with the wind (by Margaret Mitchell), Illusions (by Richard Bach), Le Petit Prince (by Antoine de Saint Exupéry) and a lot more, but it would probably take up more space than I'm allowed on here...
Music - My favourite genre is musical - from Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera to Sylvester Levay's Elisabeth I listen to everything in this category. I like classical music too, and some pop songs as well.
Movies - changes all the time, but I love historical dramas such as the Duchess, British tv and I'm a big fan of Joss Whedon and Marvel too.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Gazing down onto the Otira Viaduct in the Arthur's Pass, New Zealand... Swimming in a crystal blue lake surrounded by mountains in the South Island (which was freezing cold by the way)... Flying over Bangkok at night... My life in general... I guess I'm just lucky...
Teach, Learn, Share
I appreciate all the things you can teach me about your culture and/or language. I'd also love to share what's good in mine...
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a really friendly and helpful person, so I'd love to help out around the house while I'm staying with you. I also like to share experiences, and have long talks about anything really, so if you want to have a deep conversations I'd love to be your chatting partner!
