About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Enjoying the mountains.
ABOUT ME
I've recently moved back to the U.S. from Okinawa, Japan, and am finally settling back into life here. I'd love to share my hometown with fellow adventurers.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've mostly enjoyed the opportunity to offer a cozy futon, a cup of coffee, or some Okinawa travel tips to fellow travelers. Now that I'm in Idaho, I hope I'll still have the chance to participate!
I occasionally find the opportunity to travel and have had great experiences with the hosts on CS. I would love to surf more!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I haven't traveled as much as I'd like to lately, but I've hosted quite a few surfers in my short time on CS. I always have such a good time getting to know people!
Interests
I love teaching, camping, hiking, exploring, photography, dancing, singing, reading, and just generally enjoying life. I can sit at a cozy cafe for hours with a cup of coffee and a book, or I can salsa until my heels break. I'm at home in the mountains and in the great big world beyond. It's been amazing to rediscover my hometown after gaining some international perspective.

Music, Movies, and Books
I always enjoy a good romantic comedy. I guess I am a bit of a stereotype in that sense. :) I also love general comedy, some fantasy, and whatever else strikes my fancy.
My musical tastes are largely old-fashioned. I love classical jazz and blues, swing and big band music, and golden oldies. In the more modern scene, I enjoy artists like Imogen Heap, Owl City, and Norah Jones. I am not so hip as to know who is popular right now in the club scenes or the pop charts (unless my students tell me or I catch it on the radio). Most of all, I want to be musically educated, so please share your musical loves with me! :)
I love to collect books. Going to the bookstore is one of the most dangerous activities I could possibly take part in! My favorite books are Anna Karenina, Les Miserables, and Jane Eyre. My current obsession is the Japanese author Haruki Murakami. I will devour anything he writes.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The first sunrise of 2010 from a small local beach in Okinawa, Japan. The best way to start the new year.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to get around the salsa dance floor a bit and I know the mountains around here pretty well. Anyone want to go for a four wheeler ride?
I'd love to learn from others' adventurous and spontaneous spirit! I need even more of that in my life. I also would be THRILLED to learn about different cultures--macro or micro.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A true local's perspective of this area, a cozy place to crash, and a silly travel story or two.
