We, Rebekka and Daniel, are a young, open-minded and cheerful couple. I (Rebekka) am from Germany and Daniel is from Congo (DRC). Wer have both lived in Rwanda for several years, but we now live in the Black forest in Germany.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Daniel and me have not yet had the opportunity to travel a lot together since we have had milited amount of time and money. We are both not the all-inclusive-spa-holiday-type and prefer authentic encounters with poeple from different countries and cultures in order to share experiences, have a great time, expand our horizon and learn more about other cultures.

We are looking forward to meeting different people from all parts of the world! :-)

Interests

Rebekka's interests:
- Teaching languages (it's my job but it's also a huge passion)
- Speaking and learning different languages
- Working with children
- Exploring the world and learning about other cultures (especially African ones!!)
- East/ central Africa!! (I am deeply in love with this part of the world and found my 2nd home which will be my
1st home hopefully soon)
- Deep talks with like-mided people
- Topics I am highly interested in and love to study them further: Colonialism, Postcolonialism, Racism,
Migration (Priviledges), spirituality, etc.

Daniel is a very caring, calm and happy person.

We are booth founding members of a NGO in Rwanda which aims at improving the living conditions of marginalized and disadvantaged families. The organization is one of our biggest passions.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies:
Rebekka likes rom-coms, comedies, dramas, fantasy, and, depending on the topic, documentaries.
Daniel likes action and crime movies.

Music:
We both LOVE east African and central African music and sometimes also the charts.

Books:
Novels or other books containing the topics mentioned above.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The greatest experience I've had was coming to Rwanda in the first place and watching my life change for the best since then.

Learning: We'd love to learn more about different people (their experiences etc.) and their cultures and new languages.
Sharing/teaching: We'd love to share beautiful talks and friendliness as well as teach the languages we know.
