About Me

I am 22 years old and I live about 30 minutes away from Copenhagen, Denmark. I'm currently working as a substitute teacher in a primary school. I’m taking my third gap year because I want to see more of the world before I begin studying again.
For the past two years, I have been working one year as a volunteer on a boarding school and one year in a kindergarten. Beside that, I have also been traveling a bit and just recently got home from a 3 weeks trip to Uganda, where I also volunteered in building a primary school in a poor district of Uganda.
I really enjoy the outdoors, being creative, being active, I love music, and I love traveling and meeting new people and get to know new cultures.
My friends describe me as kind, optimistic, friendly and empathetic. I'm very tolerant and responsible, and I strive to do my best in different situations.

Family background in short:
My father is general secretary in a humanitarian organisation called ADRA and my mother is a teacher. My grandfather is an acknowledged doctor, and my two grandparents on my father's side started an organisation in Africa, primarily to help girls. I come from a family that makes a great effort trying to help other people in various ways, and I hope I will be able to do the same one day. I have a dream about getting to study psychology or midwifery next summer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My dear friend Alberte and I are going on a trip to Australia and Japan. We are both very adventures and want to experience a different form of travelling. Both of us have been travelling a lot because we find a great delight in meeting people from around the world and get to know new cultures!
We would both love to get a more authentic experience of how Australians and Japanese people live and get to share our different cultures.
