ABOUT ME

I'm a Seoul-native, making a home in Toronto, now studying abroad for a semester in Leeds! I plan to do a bit of travelling around the UK and Europe while I'm here, of course, and hope to find & meet some amazing people along the way.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I CS'ed in Bern while on a 6-week trek across Europe in 2009, and had an amazing time surfing in Philadelphia and Chicago in 2011. I host more than I surf, but sometime soon I hope to CouchSurf across my adoptive home province of Ontario.

Movies: Sunshine Cleaning, Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (and any Wes Andersons), Into the Wild, A Very Long Engagement, Motorcycle Diaries, Spirited Away, The Science of Sleep, All About My Mother, The Barbarian Invasions.

Music: Beirut, Jens Lekman, Grizzly Bear, Bon Iver, Damien Rice, Low, Bell X1, Handsome Furs, The National, Chad VanGaalen, Modest Mouse, Broken Social Scene... too many to list, my attention span is rather short

Books: I pretend to read a lot. Kurt Vonnegut is my favourite author, and I also really love John Steinbeck, and Joseph Heller. I also pretend to read a lot of history books, mostly medieval and pre-modern, haha!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once hitched a ride in the back of a police cruiser in a place where I didn't speak the language.

Teach, Learn, Share

I discovered by accident one time that I am a natural goat-whisperer. I can't tell you how likely it is that you will have to tame a young male goat with aggressive tendencies, but I can help you. I can also teach you some basic ukulele skills, and bore you to death with my rather useless knowledge about medieval saints.
