Overview
About Me
I'm a climber, skier and bicycle geek. The mountains and the desert are my lover and mistress. I love building contrivances. I consider the world to be my teacher, and my experiences my education. I have a tendency to drink coffee when I should be eating. I love my life. I try to scare myself silly as much as possible. I'm passionate. I love figuring out how mechanical things work. I love laughing and prefer to be around people who aren't afraid to act like complete fools. I like telling and hearing stories. To me, bicycles are more of a way of life than an interest. I like fixing things people are about to throw away. Climbing, bike touring, making things and exploring are the driving forces in my life. The road calls to me, and sometimes I answer. I'm more interested in what's in your heart than what's in your head.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I find that sometimes I can learn more about a culture by couchsurfing once than traveling for a week. I am always seeking a friendly face when traveling, and love when I can provide that for people in my own town.
Interests
Making things, glacier glasses, wool, bicycles, metal, couches, waxed pants, mechanical squirrels, welding, trebuchets, skiing really deep powder, coffee roasters, fixing the things I break, typewriters, sewing machines, sailboats, coffee makers, panniers, canvas, shipbuilding, mountains, the arctic, and pulleys.
