About Me

..
Currently, I’ve been calling Berlin home for the past nine years, and I’ve grown to love this city’s vibrant culture and its charm.
My job can be a bit intense, so I’m all about taking real breaks from the daily grind and meeting new people.
I've grown and lived in a few different countries, and I’ve always enjoyed exploring this wild and unpredictable world.
When it comes to people, I care more about who they’re aiming to be rather than where they’re at right now.
Life is all about mindset, and keeping it positive is key.
Above all, I believe in mutual respect as the foundation of every good connection.
I’ve also got a soft spot for fruits and veggies (who doesn’t love a good smoothie!).
I’m excited to meet like-minded folks and share some great experiences together!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My journey as a Couchsurfing host began years ago, inspired by the remote solitude of living on the pilgrimage path at the foot of Mount Sinai in the Sinai Desert - locally known as Moses Mountain. Offering shelter to pilgrims and climbers felt like the right thing to do, while also teaching my then seven-year-old son the importance of sharing and cultural exchange, all amidst the breathtaking landscapes and warm hospitality of this unique region.

Over the years, I've welcomed countless wanderers and volunteers through various platforms like HelpX.net and Warmshowers, and the experience has been incredibly rewarding. Many guests have remarked that once you arrive, it’s hard to leave. Please feel free to explore the "Volunteers & Help Exchange" photo album here!

Interests

I'm deeply passionate about life, the earth, and connecting with people. Nature is my playground, and I'm always have passion to explore.

I've traveled to many places, but it's the solitude of the desert and a deep sense of wanderlust that truly fuel my adventures, both near and far. I have a love for all types of rocks! When I'm not on the move, you'll find me in meditation, still and silent like a rock, seeking inner peace and clarity.

I express myself in various ways, whether it's capturing moments through videography and photography, woodworking, graphic design, or cooking and cleaning.
I also enjoy sharing my knowledge when needed and learning from others.

Music, Movies, and Books

Blues and modern Sufi Jazz to Classic Rock, Pop, and Metal. I’m drawn to thought-provoking books that enhance my understanding of emotional intelligence. In movies, I admire the visual style of Ron Fricke, especially in The Qatsi Trilogy, Chronos, Baraka, and Samsara.
I also enjoy comedy, thrillers, and dramas based on real-life stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the early 90s, I explored the Sinai desert and climbed Mount Sinai over 80 times. I spent seven years leading countless tours across Egypt, including important ones with the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO), the peacekeepers in Sinai.

In 2016, I completed the Camino del Norte pilgrimage, trekking 900 km from Irun, northeast of the Spanish coast, to Santiago de Compostela at the west; over eight weeks. I also undertook the pilgrimage to Makkah in 2000. Through all these experiences, I've found no place for hate or television.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can show you how to make the most amazing 'Koshary', an authentic vegetarian dish from my homeland - believe me, your taste buds will love it!
I’m also able to film, take photos, and put together a short holiday event video.
I can also share my collection of audiobooks and some incredible music.
I'm always eager to learn new and useful things, and I’d be glad to listen and exchange knowledge whenever possible.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’m happy to offer my guests coffee, immune-boosting herbal teas, and a warm welcome with respect and punctuality.
We can spend quality time together, having meaningful and soulful safe conversations.
I can also help capture the moment by filming and editing a memorable event or a fun trip video - as, for example,
