About Me

I'm a 28 year old guy who grew up in the United States. I have been working professionally as an engineer for the past 5 years and my work has taken me to a multitude of different places all over the US, including Alaska. I have also been outside of the US. I have been inside huge water pipes and underwater on submarines. I also studied abroad and lived in Spain for 5 months during college. This experience instilled in me a desire for travel and experiencing different countries "the slow way" that I have not been able to get out of my system.

I am very open minded and easygoing and have decided to take a leap of faith and begin an open-ended backpacking trip. March 2016 my trip will begin in Vietnam.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Every country a person can visit has a wonderful array of different places to see and things to do. But, in my experience, it's people that really make life worth living. People are what keep things interesting and give a person the best memories. In my opinion, Couchsurfing is the absolute best way to meet people from a certain place and have the most authentic, fulfilling experience possible. Hostels can be a great way to meet new people as well, but it is still a somewhat topical encounter. You meet up and get to see a place from the outside, as a tourist, but Couchsurfing really allows one to experience a place from the inside, like a local.
