I'm an artistic, curious, and open-minded person who likes to learn new things, make connections, and hear unique stories and perspectives.

I'm a librarian and work for an open source software development project. I work from home and get to travel a lot with my work.

I also DJ, make fanzines, organize events and parties, and help run a zine library/DIY art space.

I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada in the summer and Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico in the winter.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I haven't hosted or stayed with anyone on couchsurfing in awhile, but I like to use it sometimes to meet people. I especially like to meet artists, queers, and other magical and creative people. Get in touch if you want to wander and explore, go out dancing, see live music, or go swimming!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all kinds of underground music, especially punk, garage, noise, and different kinds of broken beat bassy electronic music.

I read a lot more than I watch TV or movies. Some of my favorite authors are Octavia Butler, bell hooks, Michelle Tea, Jeanette Winterson, Dionne Brand, Mia Mackenzie, and Patricia Highsmith.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm learning Spanish and would like to meet Spanish-speakers to practice with. I will happily practice English with others but I am not an English teacher.

I know how to identify and use various wild edible and medicinal plants and I love to learn more about this, everywhere I go.

I love to DJ at unusual parties and events and share music.

I love to cook, try new foods, and learn how to cook new dishes.
