About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to become a person of substance.

ABOUT ME

I studied Math and Physics in college. Several people have told me, "Really? You don't look it."

Take that as you will.

PHILOSOPHY

"If it's easy then it probably isn't worth your time."

Not always true, but usually is appropriate.

Music, Movies, and Books

oy, this is difficult. it's hard to pick favorites. instead, I'll list the ones I tend to watch/listen to/read over and over...

movies: Royal Tenenbaums, Pulp Fiction, LOtR, withnail and i
tv: Twin Peaks, Arrested Development.
music: Animal Collective, Deerhunter, Cocorosie, Bob Dylan, ane brun, radiohead, johnny cash. anything, really.
books: I read a lot of physics papers. outside of that, I really loved The Windup Bird Chronicles, The Broom of the System, . I sheepishly admit to reading the entire Hunger Games trilogy over the course of two days, without break.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Putting my life into the hands of a Mongolian guide for a weeklong horseback riding trek in Mongolia, with only a Lonely Planet phrasebook to aid in communication.

A close second would be biking 100km into the mountains outside of Beijing on one of those shit, single speed bikes whose pedals like to fall off (ahem).

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd rather learn from one bird how to sing
than teach ten thousand stars how not to dance
