About Me

CURRENT MISSION

travel laughter music queer outdoors experience joyous!

ABOUT ME

I'm a 21 year old redhead who's keen on traveling as much as possible because I'm forever amazed at how much you can learn from and about different cultures, languages, places and people. I'm generally pretty outgoing and always enjoy a good laugh. I'm equal parts stay-at-home couch-potato and a going-out people-person. I'm queer and love it and am not interested in anyone who can't tolerate diversity. I enjoy a good book, love all things music related (listening and playing!) and play drums and a tiny bit of piano and guitar. I like to dream about and debate how the world could be a better place and different ways to make it one. I love theatre and the arts and think I'd make an alright teacher. I'm an aunt of an amazing one year old and super-cool three year old and family is important to me. I grew up in a little country town in Australia and love the outdoors and nature. I can juggle, speak Swedish (spent a year there on exchange in 2005!) and I'm little bit of a perfectionist. I thrive on challenges and LOVE exploring new places!

PHILOSOPHY

Always seek new places and people and challenges. Get out of your comfort zone. Make the most of everything. And once what once scared you has become normal and totally possible, repeat step one. That way you'll keep learning forever.

Keep an open mind.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I only just joined up and since I'm currently traveling I'd like to meet people and probably take up some offers of couches too!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a great experience surfing in Southern Italy and am very keen to meet more people as I continue my travels (though as I'm visiting friends I won't actually be surfing.) When I gt back to aus I'd like to open up my couch to fellow surfers!

Music, Movies, and Books

-Jazz/swing/rock/folk/gypsy especially LIVE alltime favourites; the cat empire,

-Books; I'm a tragic Harry Potter fan. Lately I really enjoyed the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo trilogy. I love picture books and comics too.

-Movies/TV; um, Love Actually, Sa Som i Himmellen, Rocky Horror Picture Show, the L Word, Horton Hears a Who, Finding Nemo, The Spanish Apartment, 500 Days of Summer, basically anything that makes me think or smile or cry or laugh. Not horrow movies, I don't like horror movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent a year when I was sixteen on exchange in Malmo, Sweden. That was a hell of an adventure. Threw myself into an unknown culture, learnt the language and it was a year that changed my life. Have met wonderful people while living at 'International House' in Brisbane at the Uni of Queensland where I lived in a community of students both Australian and from all around the world. We created some great festivals and multicultural events that were pretty special. I travelled a fair chunk of Australia and a bit of Europe and a fair bit of Sweden

Teach, Learn, Share

LOVE TO LEARN
-about cultures;traditions, food, religions, beliefs...
-anything musical, artsy or cooking related!

TEACH! I'm very willing to teach what I know of drumming (I play drums and am alright at it!)
-How to make ricotta and raspberry pancakes
-A cool card game called animal snap!
-ANything bout australia!
