About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"The longer I live, the more beautiful life becomes"

ABOUT ME

Cheerful, easy going, a good listener.
A new widow. Politically left, but not as much of an activist as I should be.
Hobbies: painting, reading, listening to classical music, playing the harmonica.

PHILOSOPHY

"The longer I live, the more beautiful life becomes" F.L.Wright.
The forest is my cathedral.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Enjoyed couch surfing in Alaska with an old college friend, helping her build a cabin.
Especially enjoyed couch surfing last spring at my grandson's surf shack on the Baja Peninsula, with my great-grand-daughters.

Interests

I'm looking forward to seeing more of this beautiful country, via road-tripping. I'm making a collection of photos of "accessible" (i.e. handicapped) hiking trails in our State and National parks. Although I love to hike, my range is limited to 1/2 mile, due to a slowly progressing form of dystrophy.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy sweet writers, such as Kent Haruf, Alexander McCall Smith, and Jan Karon. Also love the Sue Grafton alphabet. I like books that make you think, like "The Singularity is Near" by Kurzweil.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most beautifully amazing thing I have seen is the coastline of Maine, now a memory from my childhood.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have stories about mid-century modern architecture: been there, done that.
Also stories about hitch-hiking cross-country in the '40's, (back in the days when it was safe)

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Mexico

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
