me: big laugh, unyielding sarcasm, tight hugs, firm handshakes, wide smile, genuine kindness.

hospitality is my specialty.

PHILOSOPHY

Music, Movies, and Books

i love the feel of the morning paper in my hand. i love laughing as i leaf through my newsweek. i usually read when my mind isn't already saturated with many other things. right now it is filled with theology...
i love light-hearted comedy and witty satire. i'm a fan of mean girls and stick it, and i love watching batman begins over and over again. (just saw dark knight...not dissappointed...but still love the previous).
music, i'm really eclectic. i love james taylor, dispatch, bob marley...and motown, the roots, common, mos def...and old school madonna and michael jackson...and frank sinatra...and debussy, ravel and the boston pops...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

i am awestruck at the site of nature. my time in california is best described by the backpacking trips i led in yosemite. the vastness was breathtaking.
in ireland, i was overwhelmed by the awesomeness of the giant's cuaseway. only with hindsight am i able to understand my appreciation for it. it rocked my geology-nerd socks off!

Teach, Learn, Share

love storytelling.
love to learn complex card games like my grandparents played (bridge, peanuckle and canasta).
love teaching outdoor recreation: water sports, climbing, etc.
