About Me

CURRENT MISSION

bake bread on every continent!

ABOUT ME

I was born and grew up in Anchorage, Alaska, exploring the outdoors first with my family and now with friends. I love to ski and to hike and ride my bicycle and work part of the year as a geologist or fisherman. I am an open, curious person, but sometimes reserved.

PHILOSOPHY

keepin' that PMA. I believe in gentleness both with ourselves and others but also boldly taking on uncomfortable situations with honesty and compassion.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Once upon a time the house i lived in hosted many a couchsurfer and i gained a lot (including roommates and good friends) from the experience. I believe couchsurfing is a great way to travel, and a great way to meet new people and learn about other places when traveling is not an option.

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

sometimes a great notion, starlight and storm, the dharma bums, watership down, a boy and his dog

I am into bluegrass, traditional country, rap, experimental, punk and the sounds my friends create. Lately i have been listening to the tune-yards, the builders and the butchers, sylvan esso, and the carolina chocolate drops

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

watching the sunrise over the grand canyon on a remote stretch of the north rim...

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach basic bicycle mechanics, how to make bread, homebrewing basics. I would love to learn more about growing food, rock climbing, mycology, and playing the banjo. I am interested in sharing knowledge and adventures!
