About Me
Hey all!
I'm a bit of an old soul at heart; albeit a lost one too.
Have finally managed to find my calling in teaching, and only regret finding it now. I have pretty simple tastes, to me the greatest joys in life include finishing a book I know I will come back to one day and having a beer in view of the sea (plate of nachos optional).
Otherwise there isn't much exciting to know about me, unless you don't mind discussing some philosophy and existential nonsense, no guarantee I'll know what I'm talking about.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
At the moment I don't foresee a hope of me being able to afford going overseas anytime soon. My genuine reason for joining couchsurfing is in the hope that if anyone ever considers Durban a possible destination, that I can be a reliable and safe place for them to come to and enjoy my hometown. It's also pretty amazing to learn new things about where I've grown up and what I have taken for granted all these years.
Anyway, feel free to come spend some time here!

Music, Movies, and Books
My taste of music is pretty eclectic, though my true love lies with post-hardcore stuff.
Bit of a snob when it comes to movies, I find it difficult to watch mindless comedy/action/thrillers. Otherwise, I guess I enjoy movies haha. Find out about Igby Goes Down.
Books!? Yes, I read those a lot.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've survived to 30. I know, that would be more impressive 2000 years ago, but I'm still putting that down as a milestone.
Paddled down the Zambezi too.
Teach, Learn, Share
General history about things. I don't know how, I just seem to know stuff.
