Hey everyone, Reed and Devon here, we are two friends from Nebraska traveling the country this summer. We are on a 100+ day road trip around the country. We are traveling from June to mid-September, coast to coast, border to border. We are looking for friendly hosts to share stories over great food and delicious beer.

About Reed:

I've been working as an independent environmental consultant and a bartender for the last year, after graduating with a bachelor's in environmental studies in 2015. This fall, I will be leaving Lincoln (where I was born and raised) and moving to Portland to start grad school, studying urban and regional planning. My professional career has centered around promoting sustainable policy and practices. In my free time, I love to get outside or sit down with friends, crack open a home-brewed beer or kombucha, and talk about politics, psychology, feminism or the latest issue of The Atlantic.

About Devon

I have been working for a Montessori school located on an old farm stead as the Facilities manager and filling in as a teaching assistant as needed. I love my work with the school but I’m transitioning jobs to pursue my passion in organic agriculture. I hope to use the farm to help strengthen community in and around Lincoln by establishing a personal farm to table connection.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are on couch surfing to make connections with like-minded people. We hope to get to know unfamiliar communities through novel experiences and building new relationships with people across the country.

Interests

One of the reasons we’re traveling together is we have a lot in common:

- We are craft beer enthusiasts and enjoy making our own

- We like getting our hands dirty in the garden

- We love cooking vegetarian meals from scratch, we would enjoy preparing a meal for you

- We have both done a lot of traveling in the west, We’re excited to get to know new places this time around

- We have been lucky to haven apart of a feminist book club back home, we are excited to continue learning and discussing issues related to feminist theory.
