About Me
Hey I'm Reed! I'm 26 years old, currently living in New York, NY with my wife Catriona. I first joined Couchsurfing in 2010, but in the last couple years have not been in a situation to host or surf. Catriona and I recently moved into an apartment of our own, and we are both excited to start hosting again.
About Reed:
I'm originally form Southern California. I lived in Aberdeen, Scotland for 4 years studying International Relations and Legal Studies, and doing part time bar work. During that time I did some backpacking and Couchsurfing through Central and Eastern Europe. After graduating I traveled through Asia, Australasia, and the South Pacific, including 3 months hitchhiking in Japan and 5 months in Australia on a Working Holiday Visa. Since 2013, I've lived in Los Angeles, New York, and Portland. In 2014, I completed an Americorps year of service with Habitat for Humanity, and I'm now back living and working in New York City.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I first heard about CSing from one of my friends that was living in Israel, it seemed like a great idea so I checked it out. My brother, my friend Ian, and I spent one month traveling across eastern Europe and met some great CSers/friends on the way. Since then I have done some hosting to hopefully provide a good experience like the one I had to new and experienced surfers. In 2012 I spent 3 months hitchhiking and CSing through Japan, it was an absolutely amazing experience.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Burning Man. It is the most amazing experience ever, I highly recommend it to all CSers (and everybody else for that matter). After my first visit in 2010, I've returned several more times, and look forward to going again. If you ask me about it, I probably wont shut up for a few hours!
