ABOUT ME

Hello there,
I moved to the Netherlands at the age of 17 in 1999 as an exchange student. I live in Amsterdam since 2004. Prior to that I have lived in various cities and towns around the Netherlands.

Since I am here I don't know how I managed the first 17 years of my life without a bycicle. It represents freedom and is kind of my best friend :)

I studied jewellery design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, graduated in 2010. As a freelance artist I'm making so called contemporary jewellery. In my case it is mostly small wearable sculptures and wall-objects. My work probably doesn't look like what you would expect when you hear jewellery design. I'm mostly working with non-precious materials as wood, found objects steel or zinc. Zinc is a nice gray material, can make it look hundred years old in 30 minutes :) It's soft and light and is an element in your body, even represented in Vitamin pills. My work is shown at galleries and art fairs.

I love biking on the countryside and I'm doing indoor climbing for several years now.

I used to play the piano but as I don't have one since years I'm afraid I'm quite out of practice now..

Next to the above I loooove festivals, music, cooking and having dinners with friends :)

I'm a total beginner, only slept on friends' couch till now and hosted people I knew prior to their arrival. Time to get started! :)

Interests

people in general, the way they think and feel, hiking, playing instruments, art, politics, cultural differences, going out with friends, baking cookies when others are around to share it with them, i love to see when somebody is talking about the subject he/she is fanatically into specially when I can follow it at least a little bit, I love to be around others, go to festivals
