About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I think that the fight for human rights is the most important struggle on Earth, matched only by the need of ensuring quality care for all humans. I like to help with both of these as much as possible.
ABOUT ME
I am a student. I have hopes, joys, sorrows, and dreams. I try to keep to a whole food diet.
PHILOSOPHY
I live my life...to learn why I live my life, if that's a fair answer. I want to have a family, I want to own land and farm, I want to play a heavy role in social upheaval, I want to raise goats, I want to see every nation in the world, I don't know what else I want, but that's a start.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I like to take life by the balls and squeeze. Not too hard, though. Life will smack you if you squeeze too hard.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've stayed on people's couches pre-couchsurfing.com, and the experiences varied. I was homeless for awhile, and it was hectic to not have an option where I slept. I remember the kindness of gracious hosts, and I plan to emulate that. I also remember the douchebaggery of manipulative and sneaky hosts, and I plan to avoid that.
Interests
I'm a big fan of disk sports, both golf and ultimate. Hiking is great when I can find a buddy go with. I like to write short stories and read long novels. I play Magic: the Gathering now and again. I love to cook, and consider it an art form like any other.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A couple years ago I jumped out of a plane on my first tandem jump. It is the single biggest rush I've ever experienced: the singing wind when I slid out the door of the plane at 13,000 feet, the excitement as the wind whistles past my ears, and the awe of being able to see the Olympic mountains 100 miles away across the Puget Sound, and the Cascades 50 miles away across Lake Washington and the vast farmlands of the Snohomish Vally.
Being part of the Occupy Movement as it coalesced and tried to govern itself in defiance of municipal ordnances was full of adventure and hope last year. Daily, I saw a way to fight back against the corporate mentality that has dominated our political economy for the last century. Even though we were not successful with the end result, the experience showed me the potential of activist-driven politics, something I hope to be a part of in the future.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you to cook your favorite meal, using all fresh ingredients. If I don't have it at home, we can walk to the farmer's market to get it. If they don't have it, we'll go to Bayview Thriftway. Food is the basis of life, and the art of cooking has been largely lost in this day and age. I want my guests to take home the habit of spending time cooking food whose origin they know.
I can teach you how to play chess. Logic is the basis upon which everything except art is derived.
