About Me

Regan Fitzpatrick || Aspiring Human || Renewed Day by Day

I currently call the urban desert of central Phoenix home. I work in non-profit service to refugees and I live in one of the most dense international communities in the United States. My close neighbors come from all over the world, and I get to call them friends as I strive to serve their families.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To better tap into the global community; People are made in the image of God wherever you go, and the more I travel and cross paths with different kinds of humans, the more I feel connected to God, the world and even to myself. This life is an incredibly complex, and deeply beautiful thing.

Interests

I'm a thinker with a passion for understanding exactly how things (and people) work. I live in a constant state of awe of the physical world around us, and of intellectual pursuit. I'm a curious, intellectual, and observant person and I am always energized by learning new things.

I dabble in different creative outlets that allow me to experience nature and people in a new way, and I love learning from people who are different from me and from the environment. I am a plant-obsessed, aspiring story-teller, human, and friend. Future professional street artist and beat boxer.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too much music to possibly list... Genres of the moment include tons of Indie Rock, Psychedelic, Pop, Synth Pop, and the occasional Shania Twain (what a woman 😍!).

Some 🎼 Essentials;
Modest Mouse, Rivers & Robots, Bon Iver, Mac Demarco, The Soil and the Sun, Washed Out, Big Thief, MGMT, Fleetwood Mac, Tame Impala, Fleet Foxes, Beach House, Tennis, Heart, Joe Walsh, Jimmy Hendricks, She & Him, Vampire Weekend, Coldplay, Morning Teleportation, Sylvan Esso, the Dixie Chicks, Big Baby DRAM, the Beatles, Tegan and Sara, Beirut, Agnes Obel, the Apache Relay, and sooooo many others.

I love to play music with people, and sing at all times. Any time I can be around music is a good time to me. As far as movies go, I love a good story. Art films are my forever favorite, but I also can jam on classic rom coms, thrillers, or intelligent flicks with decent acting. My favorite movie since I was 8 is Drop Dead Gorgeous-- probably the most underrated film of the 90's. Not even sorry about it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Getting up in the morning is a pretty amazing feat sometimes... But I've also jumped out of a plane strapped to the belly of a man. So that was cool.

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach English to refugees, I love to learn people's stories and I do believe each story is sacred. I share my own story with those who earn it through mutual respect. (Not actually sure what this section is asking, but that's what I've got 😂). I'm also a clown, figuratively speaking, so I love to share laughs at all times.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share tons of delicious international food (with a little help from my friends), stories of my life and travels, and a relentless sense of humor. I also LOVE PHOENIX, and can share the neat spots I've found.

Countries I’ve Visited
