About Me
CURRENT MISSION
"If you wish to travel, travel light. Take off all your envies, jealousies, unforgiveness, selfishness, and fears" -Cesare Pavese
ABOUT ME
I'm friendly, outgoing, energetic, and generally get along with just about anyone. My favorite thing in the world is learning something from someone new. One of the reasons I love learning new languages is because it increases the percentage of the world's population that I can interact with, and I absolutely love people. I have a lot of energy and love being active, although enjoying a day of nothing is always such a sweet feeling. I'm generally down for anything and can usually be found laughing or making a corny joke.
PHILOSOPHY
I like to have fun and try not to take myself too seriously. I'm a very focused person, enthusiastic about a lot of things, and always make an effort to be present.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Couchsurfing has given me the opportunity to meet and interact with incredibly interesting people. I currently live with my amazing boyfriend JP, who got me into couchsurfing in the first place, and I love hosting people so I can pay forward the wonderful karma that couchsurfing has provided me. I love having people stay with me as long as they clean up after themselves.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My best couchsurfing stories are better told in person so I can gesticulate and do the voices that accompany them :-)
REQUESTS
Since I'm living in Melbourne, I get about 10 requests a day. Please keep this in mind as last minute requests will usually be a no- chances are I've already got someone staying!
Interests
I'm a teacher, so I love kids. Also love traveling, eating, drinking, dancing, and bullshitting about nothing in particular. When I'm in a place for the first time, I love to just walk around and try to get a feel for the place as a whole before I start focusing on one activity, one restaurant, one tourist attraction, museum, bar, street, etc. I am incredibly fascinated by architecture and city layouts and tend to be more touched and blown away by things people have created rather than nature. That being said, I love hiking, trekking, running, and outdoorsy stuff as well. I'm very interested in psychology and tend to reflect on my experiences and the people I meet from a social/psychological standpoint.

Music: Arctic Monkeys, Black Keys, Cold War Kids, White Stripes, MGMT, the Strokes, the Shins, Modest Mouse, Franz Ferdinand, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Animals, Louis Armstrong, and my guilty pleasures Taylor Swift and Daddy Yankee :-)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once worked at an orphanage in New Delhi for three weeks. Intense and amazing doesn't even scratch the surface of that experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can cook some yummy dishes, which tends to be a pretty typical couchsurfing exchange. My favorite ingredients are butter and cheese.
