Why I’m on Couchsurfing

CSing is a brilliant idea...you get easily connected with locals and share some first-hand experiences instead of 'travelling' the boring normal all-inclusive way.

Music, Movies, and Books

Quite a lot of music: diverse metal subgenres, classical music, folk, ska, punk to name a few
films: Pythons, The Big Lebowski, Lasse Spang Olsen-movies and lots and lots of b-movies (the crappier the better),
books: travel literature, (auto)biographies, a lot of Terry Pratchett's Discworld stuff and books about pointless knowledge

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Leaving my comfort zone and starting to travel on my own...I had a very Samwise-moment five years ago, while crossing the border between Czech Republic and Slovakia:
"If I take one more step, I'll be the farthest away from home I've ever been. "
While this hasn't been entirely true (I've been to Sweden, Italy etc be fore, but always with family, girlfriend, friends...), but I've never before travelled this far alone.
Since then I've been to most of the countries of the 'Eurozone', accidentially left the EU once and am now going on my grand tour on the Transsib.
