About Me

Hi, I'm Rei!
I'm half Japanese and half Polish, but born and raised mostly in Japan, Nagoya. (I was living in Chile for 2 years)
Currently I'm doing an Intern in Amsterdam and taking a gap year on university in Japan.
Since I entered uni in Japan, I'm having a year going back and forth between Europe and Japan because of my Erasmus in Czech Republic, study in Japan, and intern in Amsterdam.
I'm doing internship at PR agency for bike companies, and I'm also riding bike as a pro sometimes, and I like to have all the camping stuff and travel cities to cities on bike and hang out with local.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My parents are huge fan of doing backpacking trip, and I've been to so many countries since when I was really small.
And recently I realized famous sightseeing area is almost the same everywhere, and started liking to explore what local suggests. I rather prefer just going to nice small restaurant or bar with people there, and talk where's nice to travel next day.
I often use this app when I do bike trip. Touring different cities each day and seeing the view and cultural difference on the way is one of my most favorite things.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like any kinds of taste, and there aren't so many things to mention.
But just one thing. Not all the Japanese knows well about Anime and Manga, so don't expect too much for me! haha

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

2 months trip on bike on 2019!
Since I moved to Amsterdam for my internship but couldn't find apartment for 1.5 month, I decided to have 2 month digital nomad life, instead of find place to stay each day or sleeping in office. (Yup, Japanese often do this even though if they have house...)
Pack everything on bike, bring laptop, and sometimes working from campsite was amazing, and that was also a part of my job. https://www.gravelunion.cc/rider-qa-rei-miyoshi
Since 2018, I tend to be homeless for 2 or 3 month on summer and traveling somewhere... Probably this gonna happen this year as well.
