Overview
About Me
I’m new to the Couchsurfing community, but not to travel and staying with others. I did a 6-month study abroad in Santiago, Chile when I was in college, and have been house sitting and taking care of friends’ pets for years.
I’ve been on a road trip of sorts since November (2017), but am finally getting ready to “settle down” in either Austin or Charlotte. I’m a language nerd and love learning about the cultures and people I live amongst. True to my name, I read a lot and am also an Internet-published writer/journalist.
I’m athletic and I exercise everyday—swimming preferred, but I’ll also go for a run, lift weights, or just go on a walk/bike if I feel up for it. I love the outdoors, especially the water, be it a lake, river, pond, or the ocean. I like to have a good time and am somewhat of a craft beer snob, but not a big partier.
I believe one should do good deeds with no expectation of thanks or reward, and I do my best to live my life on those terms. I can’t wait until I have the opportunity to pay it forward and host surfers myself; the only reason I’m not already is because I don’t own my own place. I’m very clean and make my bed everyday, I do NOT smoke, and just about everything I own can fit in the back of my car.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe in the community’s purpose and I want to help enrich it. I don’t have the income to stay at hotels, and Airbnb costs can add up quickly. I’ve also been trying to travel more in the USA and get to know my own country better.

Teach, Learn, Share
I can help you brush up on your Spanish (or English), improve your writing or proofread anything you need. If you have access to a pool I can teach you how to swim or help you improve your strokes, or simply become water-safe. I can also help you purge/let go, if you are interested in the minimalist lifestyle.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’m easy to talk to and willing to help out around the house for as long as I stay—even if it’s only a day or two!
