About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore and develop

ABOUT ME

I was lucky enough to grow up in a family that had the means to travel frequently, so I've always been interested in different places and the possibilities they contain/create. At university I studied the Comparative History of Ideas, a liberal arts program focused on the intersections between philosophy, anthropology, literature, history and really whatever else anybody fancied. My partner, Blayne, studied anthropology.

After finishing school, our studies and experiences inspired us to travel independently in Europe, Southeast Asia, and more recently, the western United States. We taught English at a public all boys high school in Bangkok for one school year, which was a crazy awesome experience. We absolutely love Thailand and would be so happy to discuss anything about it with you!

Next up, we're going back to Europe, traveling through the Netherlands and Belgium before flying to Spain, where we'll be teaching English in Zaragoza in the upcoming year.

PHILOSOPHY

Reid:

Until you wake up to what you really are
you’ll be like the man who searches the whole jungle
for a jewel that hangs at his throat.

Oil, wick, fire: until they mingle in a cruse
they scarcely produce any light,
So how can you expect to dissipate the darkness
simply by talking about lamps?

You’re the sort of fool who sees your face
in a mirror, befouled by inky filth,
And proceeds to try to erase the blackness
by cleaning the reflection to a shine.

Surdas says, it is only now the mind can see –
No that so countless many days are lost and gone –
For who has ever recognized the brilliance of the sun
But by seeing it through eyes gone blind?

Blayne:
