Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm travelling from southwestern Ohio to northern Maine to work on a vineyard for a year. I'll be on the road during the first week of October 2015.

Interests

I have a voracious interest in horticulture, agriculture, and plants in general. I clumsily attempt to write poetry and short stories somewhat regularly. I enjoy cooking, trying new beers, playing chess and Dungeons and Dragons, and engaging in heated conversations about political theory or literature. I promise I'm not a dick about it, though.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music usually includes jazz, surf rock, punk, or anything that happens to tickle my ear holes in just the right way.

As for literature, the list could go on. I dig oxford, beat, and romantic-era poetry, classic American novels, philosophy texts, historical non-fiction, and the Farmer's Almanac whenever I need a good laugh.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For nearly half a year, I lived in a tipi in the Moab desert while I worked on a strawberry farm. And believe it or not, I'm still not a hippie.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love collaborating on interesting projects. Over the past years, I've helped launch two separate underground newspapers, got the ball rolling for an up and coming urban farm in my local area, and have been heavily involved in community-based leftist activism. Really, I live to help.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm pretty handy in a kitchen. I can make a mean pasta as well as damn near any potato dish you can imagine. Also, I hold a blue ribbon for tidiness.
