About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Road trip from New Orleans to NorCal with Taaaaayoooooo! ^_^
https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/tayojisi
I've been focusing more on seeing all the gorgeousness in the states. In my 20's, I left the country every chance I could. I then realized there are many things I'm missing on my home continent so I'm working on that. 2 new states this season! Woohoo!
Looking forward to conquering new lands in my sweet new off-road truck. Glee. Lots. Wanna meet up? Host? Give travel tips? (No, seriously.)
Tayo and I are seeking hosts and ambassadors to help us find all the good stuff in the southwest. Whatchu know about dat??
Tayo and I got the real cajun experience in Louisiana and have fancy hot sauce to give to you as our cultural gift from our journey so far. We went to Avery Island, the only place Tabasco is made, and secured a few things that aren't available in stores. I ate raspberry chipotle ice cream and Tabasco soda.... uh... Wanna hear more weirdness and try some of this crazy sauce? Let's do this!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
This girl in Asheville welcomed me and a few of my friends into her house on short notice when we were assed out and about to run out of gas. Surely, she has excellent karma. I aspire to be like her.
I love meeting fellow adventurers, creating memorable experiences, nurturing friendships, and hearing stories. :) I also LOOOOVE slumber parties!! I try to do as much of this as I can cram into this short existence.
Word.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Anything that takes me somewhere else. I don't wanna sit for 2 hours and end up crying. (except 'Dancer in the Dark')
Fight Club, Legend, A Clockwork Orange, Freaks, Labyrinth, Lost Boys, Little Mermaid, Run Ronnie Run, Memento, Wedding Singer. BOYEEE!!!
Music: whatever makes people dance funny. Gangster rap to new wave 80's. Bring it. Well, not AAAnything... I don't much love country. or all these whiny little american boys. They're... kind of annoying...
Books: if I can forget where I am, I'm in. Love children's books. Harry Potter, choose your own adventure, or abnormal main characters, oh yeah. Hesse. Palaniuk.
Currently conquering the Ender's Game series. 5 down, a crap ton more to go! Loving it hard.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Inside: I was a field instructor at a wilderness therapy program for 'at risk' teens in the mountains of Georgia for way too short of a time. I learned so much about myself, others, relationships, and communication. It was a total wake-up call. You don't know who you are until you have to deal with your shit. It really is a beautiful moment when you realize how much control you actually have over your own happiness.
Outside: I backpacked Guatemala summer 07. It was my girl's first adventure out of the country and my first time solely navigating a non-english speaking country. unlike anything I've experienced. It made me a much braver traveller. Totally worth it.
Most beautiful thing I've seen: Semuc Champey. Look it up.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach me how to score cheap plane tickets!
I'll show you: how to make T-shirt prints with spraypaint and the best way to cook plantains. :) Wheelthrowing, how to trespass unprofessionally, and I may even show you a random cheesy awesome movie that you may otherwise never get to fall in love with.
What I Can Share with Hosts
New Jersey and New Orleans culture. That means how to check people with a look, how to hold your ground, and how to do cool butt tricks. Not in that order.
I have had lots of crazy awesome 'strange' jobs and have acquired lots of random fun skills.
I can cook you Puerto Rican rice and beans. Help you troubleshoot pretty much ANYTHING dealing with art or feelings. (Holy crap, I look crazy!) I am very 'empathetic', good listener, but lots of life and intensity if you prefer to be the listener or observer.
I'm a bit of a chameleon... Adaptable.. And mad friendly if I deem you safe for interaction.
Countries I’ve Visited
Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Guatemala, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Panama, Puerto Rico, Spain, United Kingdom, Vatican City State
