I am a professor of French at UW Seattle. I focus on sociolinguistics and second language acquisition. I am interested in how identity markers affect the learning of a second language. I am also a visual artist in my spare time (www.mayasmith.com).

I would love to show anyone around the Seattle or wherever I am. I think this is a great project and I would love to meet new people and support it in any way I can!

兴趣

I´m interested in just about everything! I especially like art, music, sports, hiking, camping, and above all TRAVELING. But I think that last one is obvious.

Nina Simone, anything by Isabel Allende, almost all motown, anything Brazilian. I dance ALOT and love anything with good African drumming. Stevie Wonder, Life of Pi, Kite Runner, Tale of Two Cities, Beloved. These were just the things that came to mind in that order.
