About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Getting to know international people without travelling. Bringing some native English / Spanish speakers into the classroom to create an authentic learning environment for my pupils. Travel when I can and meet new people, discover new places and different cultures.
ABOUT ME
I studied to become a Spanish and English language teacher because I would like to contribute to people's open mindedness. If I can teach someone another language which opens up a whole new world to them, then I am a very happy person :). Not only will they be able to speak with people with different nationalities, the fact that they are able to open up completely to a different culture will also teach them more about themselves and help them to be careful in their judgement towards others in general. Let's make the world a better place!
Sometimes I am very serious for a while, focussing mainly on developing interesting projects for my pupils and getting the checking done. However, I'm also very much into fun stuff: going out with friends (I love dancing!), going to (music) festivals, participating in (obstacle) runs, and of course: travelling.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'd like to contribute by welcoming as many people as possible to my country and our home. I'd love to share my world with you and learn about yours!
Interests
I love music, (outdoor) sports, being active and learning in general. I have a broad interest and am always up for learning something more or something new.
I practice bootcamp (in the park in front of our apartment) and yoga weekly.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like to watch movies, I just can't watch the scary ones and the ones with too much blood, because then I can't sleep at night. I'm a very peaceful person :P.
I love music, all types of music, I like to get to know different styles and new songs and/or bands.
I don't read as many books as I'd like to, because a lot of my time goes to my job and sports, but I'm always looking for interesting books to read.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most special experiences I've had in my life were the times that I was living abroad and getting to know other cultures and new people. I experienced this in the USA, in Finland and in Spain. I stayed in the USA and in Spain for a longer while in which I had to build up a social network as well. It is amazing how many nice people there are in the world and to experience that some of them opened their houses and their worlds to me. I cherish these experiences and the people that made them possible.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd love to get to know you, learn about your country, about the habits and the environment and maybe you can also teach me how to count til 10 in your language :P
I can tell you all about my city and country and show you around and I can teach you English, Spanish, German or Dutch. If you're not familiar with riding a bike, I can teach you that as well :P!
If you're a (native) English or Spanish speaker, I'd love to invite you to the classroom and have you share a bit about yourself with my pupils as well. It would be amazing to have them speak in the language that they're learning with native speakers.
I'm also into cooking (healthy food), so we could exchange recipes and tips as well.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I could tell you all about my country and the places I've visited. If you're interested in learning any of the languages I'm fluent in, of course I can help you out with that!
I'm a positive person and I adapt easily. So I can also share my positivity and my help with anything that needs to be done.
