Hi I’m Cricket! I’m a British/Norwegian vet currently traveling in Southern Africa, soon heading back to Europe for the summer Burn season.
I’m passionate about LGBTQ and animal rights and think that the world would be better if we all connected more with our fellow humans. I believe in the weird and the strange and the inexplicable meetings that happen when you open yourself up to new people and experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is/was THE ultimate way to meet locals. Lots of people seem to view it as just a way to get a free place to stay for the night, which is imo totally incorrect. It’s not about the couch; it’s about the HOST.

Speaking of hosting, I’ve only done it once and unfortunately have not had to opportunity to do it more. There is red in my ledger, I’m looking forward to wiping it out.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'll read most anything I can get my hands on. Especially the Discworld novels by Terry Pratchett.

Music is mostly lyricy stuff like Elbow, I'm not someone who needs to have music around me all the time, though I will sing and hum to myself a lot.

I can knit socks, hats, gloves and pretty much anything if I have the time. The first time you turn a heel on the sock is a magic moment indeed.
