About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to enjoy the summer vacation and then do some Rocky-style preparation for the comming hectic autumn!

ABOUT ME

All about me? Well, it all started a bit over 23 years ago when my mom and dad had this idea of... Anyways, look under interests ;)

PHILOSOPHY

To one day prove Tolstoy wrong:

It seldom happens that a man changes his life through his habitual reasoning. No matter how fully he may sense the new plans and aims revealed to him by reason, he continues to plod along in old paths until his life becomes frustrating and unbearable - he finally makes the change only when his usual life can no longer be tolerated.

Lev Nikolayevich Tolstoy

yes, that's a tough one to prove wrong.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I talk about CS whenever travel is mentioned in a conversation, and I've hosted and been hosted several times. Currently I'm traveling, but I'll be hosting again in a month or two!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted several times (mostly people who call one day earlier or on the day of the hosting :), and my experience of Paris was so much richer because of my great hosts.

Interests

exploring how we can learn, grow and develop ourselves better (both through formal research, e.g. my experimental English language workshop, and the usual everyday observing and trial & error, e.g. practicing not being angry for missing the bloody bus when you're bloody late), learning languages (currently Japanese), traveling (sort of redundant saying that on this website, but hey), taking photos, etc.

I've recently finished an experimental language workshop and some other projects, so to find out more about that and about some of my ideas and opinions, check out my blog http://beatingtolstoy.wordpress.com

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The view from the Pyrenees of the ever-changing sea of clouds, after a whole day of climbing - the most beautiful view ever!

Teach, Learn, Share

English lessons and language learning tips - I love languages and exploring different teaching methods, and you can be my little experimental guinea pig :) If you're into education and/or youth activism, there's lots of stuff we can share. Finally, in case you're planning the Camino de Santiago on foot, I can give you lots of tips!
