About Me

Hello there :-)

I'm a friendly, easy going and outgoing guy. Like most people on this site, I have a passion for travel and love to meet new people.

I've recently put my career on hold to travel around the world before settling in Canada for a couple of years.

I'm half Egyptian, half Italian, born in the UK and grew up in Alexandria, Egypt. I moved back to the UK in 2004 and have lived in London, Eastbourne, Crawley and Brighton.

My career is mostly focused on the business side of software development - it is still quite geeky ;-)

During my free time, I tend to keep myself busy by playing sports, going to concerts, going on weekends away, socialising and binge watching TV series!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I met a guy in a hostel in Chengdu, China who invited me to come along to a hangout dinner he was joining which was arranged through Couchsurfing. I went along and really enjoyed meeting several like minded people.

I am hoping to meet some more like-minded people through future Couchsurfing hangouts, being hosted and hosting.

As I am travelling at the moment, I will not be able to host anyone until I arrive and settle in Canada.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Mostly rock and metal but I enjoy most genres as long as the music is actually good!

Movies: not too picky here either but I tend to sway towards sci-fi and thrillers most. Interstellar is probably one of my favourite movies at the moment :-)

Books: Shantaram!!! I'm also reading 'A Song of Ice and Fire' books now and really enjoying them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

3 day solo motorbike trip in North Vietnam. I travelled a very scenic loop route from Sapa to Sin Ho back to Sapa again and didn't see/meet any non-Vietnamese people the whole journey.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a flair for languages and am very happy to help you practice English, Arabic and French.

I am quite good at writing CVs and job cover letters (in English only, sorry!) so will be happy to help you if you are job hunting or looking to change career. If you are studying, I will happily proof-read your essays and correct any grammar or spelling.

I am really interested in learning Spanish and Italian so would appreciate if you can help in any way. My dancing is also pretty poor so it would be great to learn the basics to decent dancing so I can impress next time I'm on the dance floor :-)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am really good at fixing computers, gadgets and most things electronic. I am also pretty good at fixing things in the house (DIY). So if your TV, toilet or iPad need looking at, I am your man!

If you are passionate about films, TV series or rock music, we can talk for hours ;-)
