About Me

Hi comrades,

I am Remi, a non-binary social science student from Prague (but studying in Denmark). I consider myself a very open and curious person that is excited about meeting new people and loves to engage in deep and meaningful discussions on almost anything. I am just super fascinated and excited about all life, the universe, and reality as such! I am quite a political person and engage in climate and social justice activism (I do not want to host nor be hosted by any fascists, homophobes, sexists or racists).

I am very respectful and used to sharing both resources and responsibility. I am also a very tidy person so I believe that I do not bother my hosts by my presence :)). While I am new to Couchsurfing I am not new to couchsurfing… I have been now 3 years on BeWelcome and both hosted and have been hosted several times (also through activist solidarity networks beyond that platform).

I love traveling, but am not the biggest fan of the conventional ways of doing that… I value low cost, exploratory, locally truly engaging and people meeting ways of traveling. Furthermore I am quite concerned with the ecological impact of traveling so I barely fly and don’t see any point in quick far travels for only few days (so when I travel outside Europe, it will be for a longer period). While I love traveling, I also love to actively work on creating strong relationship with the place I live in and exploring new paths and places of my surroundings with the same excitement as when traveling. I also love nature, and I love to be nature - I love experiencing the true realization that we are part of the nature and it’s not just something external apart of us that we can go in and out of!

I have ADHD and autism so I value open communication a lot as it is a bit of a challenge for me to pick up on unspoken things telepathically :Dd. I am also not the best with time management so if I agree to pick you up somewhere when I am hosting you, be ready that I might be a few minutes late :Dd. Furthermore, I have a longcovid syndrome (chronic fatigue syndrome), which makes it harder for me to stay at a hostel (as I need long and good quality sleep to be able to function) which is also why I appreciate your willingness to host me so much.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To contribute and use a solidarity base network and community as an alternative to the transactional and financial structures of hospitality economy; to meet new interesting people from around the world (and expand my own world with hearing about them, their backgrounds and personal stories; to get local and deeper perspectives and insights into the place I visit
