About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm Rémi, Canadian-Lebanese, currently living in Montreal, my favorite city in the world. Travelling is a passion. Not the touristy kind of travelling, but more like the trips when you get lost in the woods, or a city, or a jungle, and have no idea where to go, so you just go around and enjoy without any planning.
Most of the travels i have done came with a purpose, either for an exchange program, internship, conference, volunteering and in the future, yet some form of Higher Purpose hopefully.
I think the best part of travelling is meeting the local people first, then listening to their traditional music, and finally discovering the place and and the landscape around. Travelling is a give-and-take experience, because this is what differentiates it from watching a documentary at home. I hope to share my passion and view of life with the people i meet along the way, because i have discovered that giving is the secret to personal growth and fulfillment. I am also available in a version that is fun at parties.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In Iceland, there was a deeper part to our Adventure.
In our short stay in Reykjavik we happened to couchsurf at the birthplace of the Icelandic financial crisis revolution of 2009, thus met anarchists, political activists, eco-village project managers and a full range of incredibly bright people. But mostly, I would like to share with you the story of one of our hosts. He stated having lost his faith in humanity upon reflecting on an empty can of coke on the ground. This really made me think: if an empty can of coke had the same effect on the rest of us, wouldn't the world be in better hands? Meet the couchsurfers of iceland!!
