About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm a super optimist who's realized man can only be as happy as he chooses to be and I'm just looking to shape my world.

ABOUT ME

I'm a 4th year biomedical engineering student at the University of Cincinnati. I'm into sports and play almost anything there is, particularly soccer and racquetball. I enjoy hiking, swimming, backpacking, parks, and all manners of outdoor activities. I'm a super optimistic person, but overall I'd say I'm a fairly quiet and thoughtful person. I'm a little more coconut than I am peach.

PHILOSOPHY

"People are only as happy as they make up their minds to be"

“Whatever you are, be a good one”

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently participating in an international internship in Germany and I'm looking to travel all around Europe during my 5 months here and hope to have as many adventures as possible and meet all types of new people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I first moved to Stuttgart, I hadn't yet obtained housing so for the first weekend when I arrived I CouchSurfed with a couple that lived in the city. They hosted me for the weekend while I was able to search for an apartment and they were absolutely awesome. I don't think I could have had a better host. Not only did they house me, but they showed me around the city on Saturday (when all the markets are out) and invited me to a bunch of events. They were absolutely the nicest people and I couldn't have had a better experience.

Although I only have one CouchSurfing experience and my opinion is definitely a little biased since I'm 1/1, but it was awesome!

Music, Movies, and Books

I grew up in the Harry Potter Era so of course I've read all of those. I'm not above reading teen books such as The Hunger Games (with the exception of Twilight). I'm also a huge fan of Anne Rice novels, especially the Vampire Chronicles and Lives of the Mayfair witches. Overall, I just like reading fiction for the most part.

As far as movies go, I'll watch just about anything. I'm not a huge fan of horror films, but I wouldn't say either. My number one favorite film is Forrest Gump.

Music, I'll listen to just about anything. I don't have any eccentric or hipster tastes. If it sounds good to me, it sounds good.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Learned German in 6 months and just traveled to Germany for a 6 month internship. Looking to add to my experiences while I'm here!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am extremely interested in consumer electronics, especially smartphones and tablets (i.e. iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows Phone 7, etc.) and I follow these happenings quite closely. If you're looking for a new phone or considering buying a tablet, or even if you're just interested in the topic, you'll be hard pressed to find someone more knowledgeable on the topic than me. I know close to everything about the three major platforms: iOS, Android, and WP7 (as well as the other minor players too such as BlackBerry). Overall, I would say that I have a fairly objective view, I admit that there are pros and cons to each system. However, my OS of choice is WP7 and I could talk your head off about why I feel it's so great (but of course I'll still mention it's shortcomings).

I'm also quite knowledgeable about computers in general and can always help with that (although I'm not exactly happy about being the family IT guy).

I also picked up German incredibly fast so I can always teach that. The process of "how to learn" is still fresh in my mind.
