About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Chilling in Toronto, and happy to show you around :)

ABOUT ME

Heyy! I'm fairly new to couchsurfing, but love to travel and am doing it constantly! I enjoy meeting new people, a good story and good partyyyy! I'm always open to new experiences :)

So far I've been to Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, and the USA. In Indonesia, my friends and I met some awesome people through couchsurfing and we've stayed in touch! Its been an amazing experience and they opened us up to some new things we might not have otherwise tried!

PHILOSOPHY

This is corny, but true: Live every moment like its your last, because maybe it is.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to show people around Toronto and also meet new people abroad! Travelling helps make the world a smaller place :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I was in Bandung, Indonesia, I met Deni Setiawan and his friends--they took us to some caves outside the city, and we hiked, saw some beautiful mountains, and the largest spider I've ever seen in my life!

After, I moved to Jakarta, and Deni introduced me to his friend Alex--he showed me around the city, and I got to experience foods/sights/places I wouldn't have been able to see otherwise, given the language barrier/the fact that I was foreign. I was doing an internship in Jakarta, and without couchsurfing, I might have only experienced work while living in the city! Thank goodness for the chance to meet new people.

Interests

Music, dancing, movies (I love sad, romantic movies; thrillers (especially hitchcock, but really everything; BOLLYWOOD lol; and documentaries), travelling, hiking, politics, and books.

I also love art and am always up to visit a gallery to see visual art (especially photography). Oh, and I am absolutely, incorrigibly addicted to fashion, and will go to absolutely anything fashion related.

I want to try more outdoor sports--water sports/diving/skydiving/bungee jumping, but its all very new to me!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I've seen was Borobudur next to Jogjakarta--its an ancient Buddhist Temple, shaped like a Pyramid, with stories carved into it. I was staying with an Indonesian host family, and my host father would not let us leave without experiencing it. When you reach the top, you can see rice fields and temples for miles, and hear the Muslim prayer call in the background. Even with so many people milling around, its easy to feel a sense of peace and history at the landmark.

In second place is going to the Festival D'Ete in Quebec, where it rained like crazy--my friends and I were covered in mud, but the concerts we saw were still amazing. We decided to jump in a fountain downtown to clean off and were soaked, but everyone was in the fountain with us and we had a water fight. The bus ride home had air conditioning and we were dying, but it was still totally worth it!

Teach, Learn, Share

I speak a few different languages (English, French, some Chinese and some Indonesian). I've travelled a bit and love a good discussion on books, philosophy or politics.

I'd love to learn how to choose good wine, will help you cook if you want it (I don't know very much, but I make a good sous-chef ;))
