Overview
About Me
Hey,
I’m Remy, a French student in electrical engineering studying in Toulouse.
I love traveling in unconventional ways. Meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds is in my opinion the most interesting thing about traveling and I think everyone agrees on this here.
I always try to be as open-minded as possible and I enjoy confronting my views with others.
I lived in the countryside when I was young and we had a big garden where I spent a lot of time. It triggered my love for nature but I also love being in a big city as there are so many things to do and so many different people to meet.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am currently doing an internship in electrical engineering in Nottingham and I am planning on visiting the UK with two other friends. I don’t want to just visit places but meet locals and exchange. It’s by doing this that I’ve had the best experiences when travelling. In fact, I’ve met some of the most interesting people by volunteering in Ireland and surfing.
I bet that I’ll be able to find some amazing people through couchsurfing !
Interests
I love surfing for what it brought to me. I think it’s a very humbling sport. Unfortunately, I live quite far away from the ocean so I can’t surf as much as I’d like but one day…
I played table tennis when I was young for quite some time and I can still manage to play a little ;).

Music, Movies, and Books
I love cinema and the process of movie making. I think it’s a powerful media to express views and opinions.
I enjoy reading books from classic ones to more technical or geopolitical ones.
I listen to different types of music but I listen more often to rock, electro, folk, indie music, sometimes rap music and classical music when I need to study and concentrate. I especially love bands like Dire Straits, Band of Horses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I did WWOOFing with a friend for a month in the middle of nowhere in Ireland in a kind of hippie place. It was a very enriching and humbling experience as I witnessed a great sense of community between people, a way to live as much as possible in self-sufficiency and a completely different way of thinking.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you a little bit of French and French culture. I’d like to learn German a bit better also.
