About Me
CURRENT MISSION
. . . to ''enjoy every sandwich''
ABOUT ME
Well,
After a year of living, working, and traveling through Sweden and Europe, I came back to Ottawa for friends, family, and fun times near the canal, eating poutine!
I teach English, History, French, and anything in between, and my heart is in working with special needs populations.
I love people! I love young people, older people, people who think differently than I do, and people who don't think and just do.
Since I love people so much, I realized that being a teacher would allow me to spend a large chunk of my life with so many different kinds of people!
I'm particular drawn towards working in the field of special education, and with students who may seem ''difficult.''
I love to travel, and especially love the special moments where one is totally lost in a foreign place, and yet everything just feels so right(and might even start off as 'wrong'). Essentially, I love to be on the go, and, like many others here, it's when I feel the most.
There isn't a place in this world I don't want to visit, and right now I'm taking every opportunity to travel as much as I can.
I love food (even meat, but haven't eaten it for years), animals, languages, music, reading, the sun rising and setting, coffee, and being near mountains or water. I also have an incurable obsession for making my own popcorn on the stove.
I've lived in Canada and Sweden. Sweden isn't a huge jump from Canada, although the more I live here, the many differences I experience.
While I'm here, I'm trying to see as many places in Europe as I can. Once I move back home to Canada, my next goal is to take advantage of summers off and plan a trip to South America!
PHILOSOPHY
My father also taught me about 'Mo trace camping' meaning you don't leave any traces of you having been there.
My own philosophy is to leave no physical trace, but to leave a positive imprint in the world, in whatever small way I can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have traveled through many hostels, and they can be great, but when I heard about couch searching, something clicked.
I saw someone else saw it's a community of selfless people, helping each other out. To me, nothing is more beautiful.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None so far! I am so excited to enter the world of couch-surfing.
Interests
Knitting! I recently discovered how addictive knitting is. All my friends and family should expect to receive squares as gifts soon!
I love music of all genres, from all over. I love hearing it live, on records, from afar, from anywhere, really.
In my very humble opinion, the best song is Joni Mitchell's 'A Case of You.' It just tugs on the heartstrings in a powerful way.
I have a soft spot for 'classic rock', and think Joni Mitchell can never, and will never be touched.
