Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it’s amazing to open the door of my apartment and see a smiling stranger with a backpack full of stories.

I like couchsurfing for the same reason I like to hitchhike or talking to strangers in the cafe: we live in bubbles and we should take every opportunity to get out of the bubble and be in this world. I still believe that we can be kind and nice to each other.

We started hosting surfers after Rashad, the best host in Armenia. We had such an amazing time and felt so comfortable we decided to put the extra room to good use. We should’ve started sooner. It’s a great way to keep travelling even when you’re at home.

When I’m home you can find me reading in bed, cooking with my boyfriend or hosting a dinner party for my friends. I work in the newsroom everyday, but we can go out for a walk and a drink in the evening (please, I can’t have a francesinha every week)
