Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The couchsurfing "concept" is something I know since a long time as in my town in Brasil is very common to host people friend-of-a-friend, family-of-a-friend, friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend-and-his-girlfriend, etc etc (ask to anybody who knows it, I'm from Olinda, in Nordeste). Knowing people is a kind of the favourite sport there.

And listen music, dance music, talk about music, drink the music, sleep with music! Traditionally we have one of the 3 most important carnivals of Brasil - for me the first hehehe, the only one that is not corrupted by show business and bad turism in my opinion, made by the people to the people!

But the city is still a little bit "wild" for visitors, very bad estructure for turism. Maybe that's why we are such a good hosters, otherwise the only turists we'd have would be the very rich ones who doesn't try to have any relation with real people and the real culture... you know what I mean. The bad ones.

As a new CS user and natural CS person, I can't show here the good experiences I had surfing and hosting people around before CS but I'm sure I'll collect good ones here soon ;-)

After 5 months (hosting a looot and being hosted 1 time) i already can say: yes, i had wonderful experiences with it! I met wonderful people, now friends of mine, and also people i'd never meet in my "normal" life - what is something you never look for it but life (and couchsurfing) can give us very good surprises...
