About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To love and to learn. What else is there?

ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm Renato

I'm originally from Belo Horizonte, BRAZIL =) For two years, I lived in Vienna, AUSTRIA. Currently, I reside and study in Saratoga Springs, New York, USA, at Skidmore College. I am always balancing my travels to Brazil, Austria and USA.

I've left my easy life to step completely out of my comfort zone and experience the world in a completely new and open way. I was leading a life that I didn't agree with, so I had to change it. So I moved from Brazil, and now live in Vienna, Austria! My ultimate plan is to start university, and soon my own business. I just need to decide on which route I'd like to take.

I'm very laid back, and I rarely get worked up or take anything too seriously. I have the best outcomes when I do not try to place expectations on things. I usually get along very easily with people, mainly because of my enormous patience.

I have decided to wander the earth for however long that may take, or until a new path makes itself visible. In the meantime, I'll be making new friends, volunteering, reading, writing, reflecting, learning, and sharing what I believe in!

PHILOSOPHY

The older I get, the less I feel the need to defend my own beliefs and the more I try to understand everyone else's.

Face the reality and break the illusion.

I could use this opportunity to quote inspirational words from powerful men such as Friedrich Nietzsche or Napoleon Bonaparte. Instead I find myself drawn to the insightful philosophy of the great MacGruber:

"There is a big difference between winging it and seeing what happens. Now, let's see what happens..."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted an Austrian friend in Brazil, and me and my family had a lot of fun showing around, and taking him to other cities.
I have had couchsurfing experiences in London, Netherlands, Austria, China and the USA, and these are places I visited again after my first stay - We enjoyed each other so much during that time, that I put a lot of effort to visit them again. Always fun!

Interests

I love watching movies, traveling, going out for pizza and sushi, enjoying the sunset at the beach, biking, and partying!
